Our electricity is generated from sun, wind, water and biogeneration by our community of over 3,000 independent renewable generators. What’s more, it’s time matched<\/a> – meaning our customers are using what our generators are producing in the same half hour 90% of the time. See our latest fuel mix here.<\/a><\/p>\n

We’re Britain’s largest voluntary Feed-in Tariff (FIT) administrator, supporting tens of thousands of people to generate their own renewable power. And we have our own export tariff, Solar Savings<\/a>, which pays customers a leading rate for the power they export.<\/p>\n\n \n

2. Our gas is carbon offset<\/h2>\n\n\n

Most of the homes in the UK are heated by gas. To reduce our impact, 10% of our gas is renewable biogas<\/strong>, generated from organic matter like food and farm waste here in Britain.<\/p>\n

We offset the emissions from all of the gas we purchase by investing in Gold Standard projects with SkootEco.<\/p>\n

3. We’re certified B Corporation<\/h2>\n\n\n

As one of the UK\u2019s first purpose-led businesses, becoming a B Corp has been our ambition for a long time. And in 2024, we achieved that ambition \u2013 making us the only B Corp home energy supplier in the UK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4. We never greenwash<\/h2>\n\n\n

We buy enough 100% renewable electricity over a year directly from renewable generators to cover what you use. We pay our generator community fairly for the power they produce, supporting them to grow their assets and invest in more renewable generation. And we’re constantly innovating to bring generators and people choosing green power even more value.<\/p>\n

We forecast what customers will use against what our renewable generators will produce to match it in real time as closely as possible – achieving a match over 90% of the time<\/a>. This model actively supports the growth of renewables, and has been independently verified by the Matched Clean Power Index<\/a> – where we ranked #1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t just buy wholesale energy (which comes from a mix of sources, including fossil fuels), then buy renewable certificates separately. That model, used by lots of suppliers claiming to be green, doesn\u2019t provide as much support for renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n \n

5. Our tariffs are independently accredited as some of the greenest on the market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good Energy is the only energy supplier to have received the Which? Eco Provider for Energy accreditation for the past four years running. Our tariffs have also been accredited as Uswitch Green Tariff Gold Standard since the scheme launched in 2019. We’ve also been recommended as a green energy supplier by Friends of the Earth.    <\/p>\n\n\n
